So you want to go the gym and workout. You dread it though because of all the planning you have to do. (Grab my bag, put a change of clothes in it, shampoo and towel) or yeah and by the way there is always one guy or girl who has always there who can run 20 miles or lift 350lbs with no problem. This is not me and probably not you. This is why my living room is my Gym. I purchased Insanity, an incredible workout program from Beachbody, the makers of P90X. All I need is my living room, My DVD, towel, water and a lot of desire.
I am not going to bore with you all the claim of how you are going to be ripped to shreds in 60 days, you probably have seen the commercials. I always love the before and after pictures. There is just no way. I have done this program and let me give you some of my expert advice as a former couch potato.
- This is no joke – After the first couple of workouts I was pretty tired. These workouts are non stop cardio that attacks what is most critical, your mindset. Forget your abs or your heart. The first couple days are all about, you and if you are going to quit. Because believe me you might. But if you make it through the first 3 days, you will transition to a beachbody maniac.
- Positive Energy – after the first couple of days, I started to sleep better and really felt a cleansing. I know that sounds weird but my energy level was super high and I found myself doing more stuff around my house because of the new energy.
- People Noticing – I started to lose 5, 10, 20lbs and people would ask me what I was doing. Bottom line, it was gratifying and I was doing it in my living room.
- Strength – I started to do push ups in a crazy clip. I was randomly just banging out 15-20 during non workout time, just because I could. People were asking “Where are you getting this energy?
- No weights, no excuses – I started breaking barriers. I would take breaks but I started realizing that my excuses were going away and I was crushing it.
So when I get home from my day job, I work my night job, my body and health with Insanity. I am off to do some Insanity in my living room (GYM). First I have to clean up the toys and vacuum my Gym.
Hope you crush it!!
