The Last 3 Days of P90X

Sorry for the delay in posting.  Have been traveling for my job and had other stuff going on.  The workouts have been very challenging but I have done them and feel so much better for it.

Make sure you take your before and after pictures.  Once a month going forward is probably great because it really allows you to see where you have been and where you are going.

Legs and back was pretty tough.  I have yet to really get the form down so I have been modifying alot of moves but I am just starting and I am really focusing on quality as opposed to quantity.

Yoga X was pretty tough from a stretching point and I really felt sore afterwards. Make sure you do some extra stretching before this.  It is a lot of the same moves over and over again and it was a big time commitment 90 minutes.  I woe up at 6am in Toronto and killed it.  It was a great escape from all of the chest and back work I had done the previous day.

Ab Ripper X is no joke.  It is only 16 minutes but it 25 reps of all different types of moves.  Lots of modification here as there are some stuff they are doing that I am just not able to do.  Lots of stuff where you have to get your legs in the air which I am not strong enough to do but I do feel the burn.  For the reps I am doing 10-15 on average but this is the toughest for me.  I like cardio abs with Insanity because I was off the ground, this workout you are entirely on the ground. the people in the video are in crazy shape and is tough for new people to see them do more advanced moves.  I just try to focus on myself and what I can do.

What I noticed in the first week is that P90X is more of a time commitment than insanity and that is probably good for me.  You know how much Ii love insanity and I am starting to become a fan of P90X as well but they are two different programs.  Insanity is cardio to the extreme while p90X is more strength training.  After I go through this P90X round, I will probably do a hybrid between both.

Biggest advice as I finish week 1.  Food journal.  Track what you are eating, it is so important.  I am really conscious of what I am eating.  Diet is so important for great results.  If you workout out and then eat junk afterwards then you are just sabotaging yourself.

Stay positive, this workout is hard and it is suppose to be.  It took you  along time to get out of shape and it is going to take you time to get into shape.

Remember it is a journey not a sprint.  Are you making the effort or are you making excuses.
