Week 1 - Setting your Expections and Realistic Goals

Whenever people buy a new fitness program or machine. They really take very short term and unrealistic approach.  I start by saying I am no expert and I am probably the last person who thought could stick to a plan.  I am now realizing that getting into shape is about motivation, perspiration, habits and the willingness to be accountable.

When I started with Week 1 of Insanity.  I was nervous and excited.  I finally made a financial committment to get in shape. The gym was not doing it and I was not holding myself accountable. Here are 10 things to think about as you set off in Week 1 of your fitness journey

1) It's your program - People can encourage, support and tell you to do it, but it is you that has to dig deep down in your self and say.  Today I start to look my best and feel my best.  No one else can do that but you.
2) It is never too late - You see it all the time.  People old and young transforming their lives.  If they can do it you can do it.
3) Lifestyle -  Fitness is not a hobby,It is a way of life. Diet and exercise requires a commitment.
4) Financial - You bought the program.  Put those dollars into your abs, chest and your whole body.
5) Tired - Start to be tired of all the excuses you have made over the years.  Look at yourself in the mirror and say it's time to rock and roll.
6) No overnight sensations - Be serious about your plan. 1 day or even two weeks is not going to do.  You are in it to win it.
7) Water, Water,Water. - Get rid of all the soda you have been drinking.  You know it is bad for you.
8) Tell everyone about your plan - Don't keep your fitness dreams to yourself.  Share your passion to get fit.  In turn, help them as well.
9) Pain and Disappointment - The first week is a struggle you will be winded and tired.  (see #5) you will think that you can't do it.   There will be down days. Push through your negative spirits.  Your goals are what matter.
10) Get Better - Every workout.  Get better. do two more switch kicks, two more heismans, two more ski abs.  Push yourself and let the sweat flow.

This is just the beginning.  Best of Luck to you.
